I came by THE SECRET during one of my online class forum discussion, on ethics. Since then I have seen the whole movie and the take of different people on it. I still don't exactly know where my stand is! I would like to hear from people who have seen the movie and anybody else who has something to say!

These are obviously very smart people. I have seen this a few months back. My opinion on this...
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about this. This is more like a cult in progress. A new religion perhaps. There are some good aspects of it though. It can be used to give hope to the people like wise it can kill and shatter people. Too many to say on this again. Will leave it at this for the time being.
people are very skeptic about it, while others are totally immersed in it.

ReplyDeletei think this is one of those things that work both ways... had the movie tried to prove the opposite (the law of distraction!) people would still relate to it.
yeah, it probably would have. I guess in this case it is the person who is 'preaching' and the attitude they are doing it with has more to dothat the film itself

ReplyDeleteWell, I mean the concept of the secret is not a new thing, it all started with the book "think and grow rich" by napolian hill, basically it is based on positive thinking...
ReplyDeletewell, your outcome in life depends on your attitude to life and the external experiences... when the attitude is good and positive always, the external appearances does not mind you at all, it help you to keep moving... so what i mean is the secret will work, yes it does...
it is like a self deceit, that work for your benefit!
A simpler way to look at this is through 'intention-manifestation model'. It this not in anywhere near medicines are that you take it and look forward for a cure; but requires greater will/determination and a numerous other factors in favour of you.
